Self-regenerating / self-healing
Thanks to the presence of specific chemical functions, the material has self-repairing properties and is able to fight against mechanical damage (cracks) that it may suffer during use, by self repairing and thus keeping on fulfilling its role as a protective layer.
The doping of materials with inhibitor compounds allows the release of the inhibitor compounds in case of damage and exposure of the substrate and the sealing of the defect.
