The project aims to reuse metallic materials from recycling channels in manufacturing processes.
To achieve this, Materia Nova will use PVD treatment to add an alloying element to the powder, making it easier to either i) use the powder in the manufacturing process, or ii) add a new property to the material (ductility, weldability, corrosion resistance, etc.).
Materia Nova will also be acquiring a plasma spheroidization system for powders, which will improve the shape of recycled grains, mainly by enhancing processability.
Materia Nova's role is to treat powders from metal recycling or processes (shavings, offcuts) to upgrade them for reuse/upgrading (adding value) in manufacturing or implementation processes (coating, additive manufacturing - 3D printing...).
