PROSTEM
- Start of the project : 01-01-16
- End of project : 31-12-19
The use of adult stem cells to produce replacement tissue or repair existing tissue is a rapidly growing medical approach. PROSTEM aims to produce materials for the large-scale ex vivo production and in vivo integration of these cells for the development of new therapeutic treatments.
Applications: development of new treatments based on adult stem cells for bone repair, treatment of joint and liver diseases, etc. as well as the development of model tissues for in vitro studies. Partners: UCL, ULiège, Materia Nova, UMONS. Project supported by the European Union and Wallonia
Objectives and missions of Materia Nova
MATERIA NOVA is mainly involved in the production of variable geometry polymeric magnetic microcarriers obtained by reactive extrusion (REX) (i.e., trapping magnetic nanoparticles (NPs) in polymer matrices for biomedical use, in the absence of solvents).
