End of project: 31-05-2024
The overall objective of the project is to develop a tempered vacuum glazing with energy efficiency equivalent to, or even greater than, that of triple glazing, while maintaining a weight similar to that of double glazing and a thickness comparable to single glazing. This new type of glazing aims to meet the increasing energy performance demands in the flat glass sector for buildings, while ensuring easy integration into existing frames thanks to its light weight and reduced thickness.
In this context, Materia Nova is mainly involved in the characterization of the vacuum glazing components during the sealing phase, using Residual Gas Analysis (RGA) mass spectrometry. The goal is to identify and quantify the gases released during the sealing processes or accelerated aging tests, in order to optimize the materials and manufacturing processes of the vacuum glazing.
