The aim of this project is to develop hybrid “ceramic” nano-films, particularly carbides, with modular tribological and mechanical properties. This modularity offered by plasma technology makes it possible to respond to different industrial applications with a single material. Applications: anti-wear protection, abrasion resistance, increased tool life.

Objectives and missions of Materia Nova

Within the consortium, Materia Nova has carried out the development of crystalline nano-domains in DLC and SiNx matrices by low-pressure plasma IPVD.
