CORKCONCEPT
- Start of the project : 01/05/2021
- End of the project : 30/04/2023
The CORKCONCEPT project responds to the need of the pharmaceutical and food markets to improve the performance and environmental footprint of insulated packaging required for the supply of heat-sensitive goods. Thermal packaging currently on the market made of plastic materials such as polyurethane generate polluting waste. The management of this waste is becoming an inexhaustible source of costs and logistical difficulties for end customers. The objectives of sustainable development are at the heart of this scientific project, which aims not only to develop competitive and thermally efficient materials, but also to develop materials that are fully biodegradable, compostable, non-toxic, derived from local agro-resources, and with a low environmental impact.
Objectives and missions of Materia Nova
MateriaNova's role within the consortium is to develop innovative thermal insulation boards based on plant fibers and binders that are entirely biosourced and biodegradable.
