ALGOTECH
- Start of the project : 01-01-16
- End of project : 31-12-21
The AlgoTech project will make it possible to develop and optimize processes for the production of photosynthetic biomasses (microalgae, cyanobacteria) for non-energy use. This will include the partition and fractionation of the biomass (saccharides, proteins, lipids, pigments, antioxidants, etc.) with a view to valorising it in everyday consumer products with high added value (cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food-processing, etc.) or as building-blocks for biosourced compounds such as polymers, for example.
AlgoTech’s major idea is the most transversal integration possible from raw materials to finished products, while reducing costs and including the recycling of by-products and effluents. The platform is intended to be as “flexible and versatile as possible” and will be able to produce micro-algal biomass.
