Leistritz L/D 40 and L/D 50 extruder
This equipment is particularly well suited to the preparation of plastic granules and reactive extrusion with a production capacity between 1 and 50 Kg.
Co-rotating twin screw extruder D=18 mm L/D=40 (Leistritz ZSE 18 HPe)
- Equipped with dosers (fibers, granules, powders and liquids)
- Online vacuum drawing (volatile extraction)
- Modular screw profile
- Flow rate from 1 to 5 kg/h depending on the screw profile installed
- Compounding: polymers + fillers, polymer blending, manufacturing of nano-composites
- Plasticization: plasticized cellulose, plasticized starch
Co-rotating twin screw extruder D=18 mm L/D=50 (Leistritz ZSE 18 HPe)
- Equipped with dosers (fibers, granules, powders and liquids)
- Online vacuum drawing (volatile extraction)
- Modular screw profile suitable for reactive extrusion – residence time of 10 to 20 min
- Flow rate from 1 to 5 kg/h depending on the screw profile installed
Reactive extrusion:
- chemical modification of polymers: grafting of maleic anhydride onto polyolefins, polylactide, poly-ε-caprolactone, polysaccharides such as cellulose and starch
- chain elongation of polyesters (PET, PLA, etc.)
- reactive compatibilisation of polymer mixtures: PLA/PBAT mixture/reactive compatibilizer
- adjustment of the viscosity of polyolefins: polyolefin + peroxide
- synthesis of biopolymers by polycondensation of amino acids
- reactive lamination
Possibility of connecting the Leistritz L/D = 40 extruder to the Leistritz L/D = 50 extruder (T-connection) Both extruders can be coupled for tandem extrusion to increase screw length and extend dwell time . This gives many possibilities such as plasticizing the starch on the L/D = 40 extruder, melting a second polymer on the first part of the L/D = 50 extruder, then mixing the plasticized starch and molten polymer on the second part of the extruder L/D = 50.
Advantages
- Equipped to measure granules, powders, liquids, fibers.
- Both extruders can be compiled for tandem extrusion.
